Ubisoft's upcoming For Honor is scheduled for release on February 14th (Valentine's Day, coincidentally) but you can get a look at it a lot sooner than previously expected with a special closed alpha test that's running from September 14th through September 18th. You'll be able to check out the multiplayer content that'll soon be available with a small amount of players in an attempt to gather feedback to improve the game as a whole.
Players can test out characters from the Knight, Viking and Samurai factions and four previously announced heroes like the Kensei, Orochi, Warden and Raider as well as two new warriors: the Conqueror and Berserker.
The Knight, Samurai and Viking classes will include four varied warriors each, bringing the playable total to twelve. Vanguards act as well-rounded characters, Assassins use stealth, Heavies wield awesome attack power, and Hybrids naturally hone a mix of various capabilities.
Depending on which class you choose, you can further customize them with various skills, weapons, armor and fighting styles. As you progress through the game you'll earn XP to unlock additional abilities and visual customization options. In other words, the more you play and the better you perform, the more you can do with your characters.
There's a lot going on within For Honor, making it a formidable choice for both multiplayer and single-player affairs. You can either go it alone and earn XP and customization options or take it to your friends to see how fast you can cut them down.
Check out the video above for a look at the playable heroes in the closed alpha as well as a few other features you can look forward to.
