New Game + Coming To Dishonored 2 In New Update

by Robert Workman

While Dishonored 2 has been a highly enjoyed sequel for most players (our review will be coming shortly), there have been a few fans that have been wondering, "Hey, where's the New Game + mode?" (BTW, that's the mode that lets you play through the game on a higher difficulty setting with all the goods you've acquired on a previous playthrough, for those new with the term.)

Good news, you'll soon be getting one. Arkane Studios has announced that it will provide a free update for the sequel next month that will bring the coveted mode, along with some new Custom Difficulty settings that can make things much easier – or harder – for your journey.

This update comes on the heels of a beta update that was recently released, addressing a number of performance issues with the game in terms of visuals and frame rate. But this will be the first one that helps fix a certain issue surrounding playing through the game with all your skills intact. Because Dishonored fans know how much they love skills.

Arkane didn't provide a release date for the update just yet, but more information will be revealed in the "coming weeks." We could possibly even learn something around the time of The Game Awards 2016 or PlayStation Experience, both of which are happening in just a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, the game is certainly worth jumping into, offering plenty of strong playability between two different characters, as well as a vast world filled with dangerous enemies, cool abilities and missions that will really bring out the best in your fighting and stealth skills. You'll probably want to go ahead and get that practice in, since New Game + is not a mode to be taken lightly.

Dishonored 2 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
