Nintendo Switch Promotion Could Kick Off As Soon As Next Week

by Robert Workman

With the Nintendo Switch just days away from its official reveal on January 12th, fans are eager to see what the company’s next hardware iteration will bring – and promotion for the system could kick off as soon as next week!

A YouTuber by the name of GoNintendo has indicated that they’ve spoken with an insider, which confirmed that the GameStop retail locations are preparing promotional items for the Nintendo Switch, expected to go up sometime next week. This is via an email reporting that the items are already on the way to these stores.

“Posters, stands, display boxes and more” are expected as part of the promotion, though, sadly, there’s no mention of demo stations – at least, not yet. But considering most hardware, PlayStation VR included, gets demo stations, it’s more than likely we’ll see them pop up sometime around March, closer to the system’s official release.

In addition, however, one more bit of news also emerged from the report – pre-orders for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are expected to go live soon as well. Though the official release date hasn’t been confirmed yet (earlier reports suggest a summer 2017 release for Wii U and Switch), pre-orders are likely to go live very soon for the game, possibly even before the release date is revealed.

The full video is below, but it should be taken with a grain of salt at the moment. Nintendo hasn’t confirmed any of these details just yet, and likely won’t until the official Switch unveiling in a couple of weeks. But we’ve already seen one game, Red Dead Redemption 2, hop on the early promotional bandwagon, so don’t be too shocked if the Nintendo Switch follows suit, with plenty of hype to follow.

All we know is, January 12th can’t get here soon enough. We need our Switch details, and we need ‘em ASAP!
