We already know that Telltale Games is hard at work on a video game adaptation of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, with a new side story that will blend in with the forthcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 film. But now we have a pretty good idea of when the game will be coming out – and it’s not too far off.

Gamestop has listed a release date for the retail verison of Guardians of the Galaxy for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4, showing a date of April 25th. Keep in mind, though, that it could work the same way as previous episodic releases of Telltale Games at retail, with episodes that gradually unlock as they become available.

That means we’ll, at the very least, get the first episode of the series, a week before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 2nd. That’s pretty good timing, and a great way for fans to get excited for the movie.

Telltale hasn’t confirmed the release date, so it’s speculative at the moment. But we’ll see what details become available over the next few months, including who’s voicing which characters, and how the storyline will shape up.

In the meantime, enjoy the trailer below, and gear up for some intergalactic fun!
