There’s no question that the NES Classic Edition has a decent library of games, with 30 different titles to choose from and a great feeling of nostalgia that comes from each one. But as this news story points out, some hackers have found a way to add even more to the collection, even though Nintendo stated that it wasn’t possible due to the limited structure of the system.
This opens up all kinds of possibilities for certain titles to come back, especially those that couldn’t have been officially added due to licensing issues, or someone else holding the rights (like Microsoft with Battletoads). Plus, not all the games officially work, as the hackers haven’t tested out particular titles with it yet.
Still, that doesn’t stop us from dreaming big and wondering what five additional games could be added to the console to give it a bit more longevity. Licenses be damned, here are our five picks of games we want to see added to the NES Classic Edition. Get to work, hackers!
