Microsoft isn't the only company with big plans for 2017. Sony also intends to blow us away with its games lineup. We already know that Horizon Zero Dawn, Persona 5, Spider-Man and many other games are going to make a big splash, but perhaps the most exciting games on the way have yet to be revealed. This, according to Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida.
Yoshida has been making the interview circuit as of late, and has been quoted in numerous publications stating that Sony has some surprises in store for gamers. Here's what he had to say (via PlayStation Lifestyle):
"We have numerous unannounced titles in production. Please look forward to their announcements."
Well we wouldn't leave you hanging like that! We do have a few more tidbits from various developers and executives that might indicate the types of projects we can look forward to. Final Fantasy XV fans, for example, apparently have a large expansion to look forward to. Director Hajime Tabata stated that he's "in the middle of working on Final Fantasy XV's update. I'm also taking on the challenge of a great expansion that hasn't been made public yet."
Shin Megami Tensei fans also know very well that this year marks the series' 25th anniversary, and a brand new game is soon to be revealed in celebration. Atlus's Kazuyuki Yamai said that "the new title is a secret for just a little longer." Keep in mind that the new Shin Megami Tensei game could very well end up on the Nintendo Switch as well.
We also know that From Software, of Bloodborne and Dark Souls fame, is working on a few new projects. It's very likely that we'll hear about at least one of those games very soon - or at E3 at the very latest.
What are you hoping to see from Sony this year that hasn't already been announced? A new Star Wars game? A brand new PaRappa? Let us know in the comments, or chime in on Facebook!
