Titanfall’s Mobile Game Frontline Has Been Cancelled

For those of you that have been waiting what would come of EA’s mobile spin-off Titanfall Frontline, we’ve got some bad news.

The company has confirmed on the game’s official Facebook page that it has officially been cancelled, not even making it out of beta phase. The game will officially “wind down” as of January 20th, so devoted players still have a few days left to get their kicks with it.

The developers at Particle City “learned an incredible amount” about bringing Titanfall to mobile devices with the game, even though things didn’t work out. “The experience wasn’t ready to deliver the intense action-packed gameplay synonymous with Titanfall,” it explained.

That said, the Titanfall movement isn’t dead on mobile, as Respawn has a partnership with Nexon that will eventually bring it back. “While it’s never easy to cancel a game, we’re excited to take some of the concepts we saw resonate with players and build off of them in future Titanfall mobile games,” Particle City explained.

And it’s not the end of the world – at least we have Titanfall 2 to lean on.
