Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition Will Come With 9 DLC Characters, Who Are They?

by Matthew Hayes

So much hype; so much speculation. NetherRealm Studios just dropped the bomb we were all waiting for. We finally got an incredible story trailer for Injustice 2 which revealed Brainiac as the main villain, and confirmed our previous leak reporting that Darkseid would be making his console debut as a pre-order bonus. In the trailer we saw a perpetually tormented Superman, a potentially brain-washed Supergirl, and some interesting character skin reveals. Is that Robin? Yup, and he's confirmed playable by WB Games.

If you want to take a look at the order page on the official Injustice website, you'll see a few more bits of interesting information. You'll notice three different versions of the game: standard, digital deluxe, and ultimate. The ultimate edition of the game is listed as coming with 9 DLC fighters and 3 premier skins.

The skins look to provide wonderful alternatives - basically entirely new characters - for players to engage. Shown in the promotion are Reverse Flash, John Stewart (who was recently confirmed to be featured in the Green Lantern reboot film Green Lantern Corps), and Power Girl. All three are included in the ultimate edition, and we expect more to come in the months following launch as DLC.

Now what's this about 9 DLC characters? Very mysterious... We expect another character reveal about 20 days from now, but in the meantime we can't help but speculate. Ed Boon has teased multiple characters through Twitter polls, and now we can't but throw out a few predictions.

  • Scorpion
  • Sub-Zero
  • Captain Cold
  • Joker
  • Spawn
  • Hellboy
  • Black Manta
  • Plastic Man
  • Cheetah

What do you think? When you imagine each potential character, you have to picture them decked out in full combat regalia. Every single character will have unique armor and equipment they'll collect and don over time as you use them in-game, so every character has the potential to look like a tanky badass.

How do your predictions compare? Let us know who you hope or expect to see as DLC in the comments below, or hop on Facebook and chat with us there.

Stay tuned to WWG for all things Injustice 2.
