A New Battlefield 1 Expansion Will Be Announced Next Week

Electronic Arts is ready to move forward with more downloadable content for Battlefield 1 – and this next entry looks hellish.

DICE has noted today that it will announce the next major DLC for Battlefield 1 sometime next week. It also posted a 15-second teaser, which gives you an idea of what to expect from the content, titled They Shall Not Pass.

The video is brief, featuring a soldier holding a club in his hand in the midst of a fire-laden battlefield, with a French flag flying in the background. This will more than likely be a premium DLC add-on, as it’s going to be exclusive to those that have the season pass for the game for two weeks, before releasing to the general public.

The DLC will take place during the Battle of Verdun in France, according to this blog post. Over one million shells were fired in the opening of the historic battle, leading to huge forest fires – which explains why everything is burning in the brief video snippet. One of the maps will actually focus on the Samogneux village, which played a focal part in the war, despite its destruction. There will also be a map that focuses on “underground fortresses,” according to the developer.

Check out the video below, and look for the full announcement, including a release date and possible pricing, next week.

Battlefield 1 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Be sure to check out our review if you haven’t already!
