I know - you're a hardcore Injustice fan, and even if you didn't receive an invitation to play through the Injustice 2 multiplayer beta, you would have found a way to get in anyway. You're the competitive one. You just have to get a leg up on the competition and start earning gear, learning frames, and getting that muscle memory lodged deep into your brain.
Well, try not to get too excited about your head start. When Injustice 2 actually launches in May, you're going to have to start back at square one like everyone else. This, according to the latest Watchtower Injustice 2 stream.
The kind folks at NetherRealm started off the stream like they usually do by answering a few questions from the audience. One of the questions came from one of those competitive folks wanting to know if all of the precious gear that they unlocked over the course of the beta would carry on through to the full version of the game.
The answer, unfortunately, is no.
This is a shame for many of you who were able to unlock some legendary pieces of armor and gear for your favorite fighters. You may main Batman, and you may have unlocked some sweet armor and finally configured the Dark Knight to look just right. You may have unlocked this sweet Phantom Zone shader for Supergirl and were looking forward to using it when things kick back off on May 16. You're out of luck, I'm afraid.
It isn't a huge surprise. Most multiplayer betas end up stripping players of their accolades and unlocks once the full version comes out; it's only fair to those who didn't get a chance to play early. Still though, it is a bit of a buzzkill.
We've got more coverage coming out of this special stream, and a brand new character reveal coming tomorrow, so stay tuned to WWG for all of the latest on Injustice 2!
