We’ve been talking quite a bit about the forthcoming update for Titanfall 2, one that will add a provocative new mode that doesn’t have any Titans at all, along with a number of other fixes and balance tweaks to the game. But there was just one minor problem – we didn’t know when it was coming.
Well, consider that resolved. Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that the update will be coming out tomorrow, February 23rd, with the patch adding the new Live Fire mode (with pilots only), along with a number of other fixes to the game.
Two new maps that are specific to Live Fire will also launch with the update, in the form of Stacks and Meadow. Both maps are said to be “tight, enclosed death boxes designed specifically for the fast-paced, intense nature of the mode.”
There will also be a new map introduced for Coliseum mode, as well as a new Pilot execution, and a number of improvements, such as fixes for the holographic decoy, as well as adjustments for certain guns within the game and Titans.
Along with this update, Respawn still intends to add a new map to the game in March, taken from the original Titanfall. Unfortunately, that release is still up in the air, with no official date on when it’s set to arrive.
For the time being, though, Titanfall 2 owners should enjoy this new update – especially considering they don’t have to pay a dime for it, as Respawn previously noted that all updates and DLC for the game will be available free of charge to those that bought it. And we’re more than pleased with that decision.
You can jump into Live Fire anytime tomorrow with Titanfall 2, now available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Origin PC. If you don’t have it yet, you’re certainly missing out on quite a party.
