A while back, we reported the news that Adi Shankar, Warren Ellis and others were hard at work on a new animated Castlevania series for Netflix, one that would follow closely with the storyline for Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Today, we got a closer look at what kind of art style the series has in mind, and, well, let’s just say it’s definitely loyal to the brand.
Shankar revealed the first poster on his Facebook page today, and it looks truly magnificent, with Dracula’s massive castle featured right in front of a blood red moon. Its artwork easily caters back to older titles in the Castlevania series, particularly Symphony of the Night. It’s truly awe inspiring – and gives us high hopes that this Castlevania series is going to kick all sorts of ass.
Shankar didn’t have much else to say, but we should have an interview with him very soon, and will dig deeper into the Castlevania lore that he, Ellis and the animation team at Frederator will dig deep into when it makes its debut later this year on Netflix.
Look for more details on the Castlevania series very soon!
