Zombies content has proven to be an efficient add-on for quite a few games these days, including Red Dead Redemption’s Undead Nightmare, as well as various Zombie maps introduced in the Call of Duty series, like Zombies In Spacetime in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. But could it be coming to another AAA franchise?
That appears to be the case. Some eagle-eyed players that are currently testing the They Shall Not Pass expansion in Battlefield 1 (playable in the Community Test Environment) have come across some strange noises while playing in the Fort Vaux map.
As you can hear from the videos below, there’s something that’s screaming as you make your way through the map, and it definitely does not sound like something human. In fact, some could say it’s some sort of zombie scream, indicating we could possibly see them being thrown into the Battlefield mix sooner rather than later.
EA hasn’t confirmed whether this is happening or not, but between this video evidence, along with the confirmation of a larger Easter Egg that features a dogtag titled “A Beginning” and proof that something more sinister could be running in the walls, we could very well see the undead introduced to the game in a big way.
Either that, or DICE is really good at teasing us and has something else in mind for its Battlefield 1 expansions, as new DLC will be dropping for the game over the next few months, alongside They Shall Not Pass.
But, yes, we’re intrigued, and seeing World War I takes on Zombies (Nazis, perhaps?) would be interesting to say the least. We’ll let you know once EA and/or DICE drops official word on what these things just might be.
