As the release date for Mass Effect: Andromeda rapidly approaches, BioWare’s latest intergalactic adventure is really starting to come into view. Fans have been given a look at the first 13 minutes of the game, a full loyalty mission, and their home base. We’ve also learned about the game’s many characters, your romance options, and got a peek at the game’s full PS4 Trophy list. That’s a lot of info, but there’s still stuff we haven’t seen! Like, for example, most of the game’s varied planets.
The first planet we get to see is Voeld, an icy planet with a chilly climate that’s “hazardous to your health.” I dunno, being from Canada it just kind of looks normal to me. Piloting your Nomad on Voeld will mean plenty of slipping and sliding, and towards the end we see a showdown with some baddies. Don’t worry though, there’s also friendly aliens on this planet – the cuddly (and apparently, sexy) Angara.
Next up, we have Kandara, a rocky, sun-baked locale. The Nomad comes in particularly handy with this planet’s rocky landscape, and bouncing over the terrain looks fun. There also appears to be plenty of bad guys to dispatch, as well as a mysterious alien structure to explore.
Finally, we have Eos, a desert planet which is home to some “inhospitable creatures.” No kidding! We see a boss fight against a giant mechanical worm-like creature. This looks like a scene from a Platinum Games action-fest like NieR: Automata, not Mass Effect. Clearly, we’re going to have to be prepared for anything and everything!
Looks like Mass Effect: Andromeda’s planets are going to be a varied and challenging lot. Hopefully they’re as big as they seem, and you can actually travel to all those beautiful vistas you see in the background.
Mass Effect: Andromeda makes first landing on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on March 21.
