As we inch ever closer to the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda, BioWare has been showing off pretty much every aspect of their new sci-fi RPG. We’ve been given a walkthrough of a couple loyalty missions, a look at some of the game’s massive planets, and taken on a tour of the game’s new ship and home base. Well, now BioWare is teaming up with IGN to introduce Mass Effect: Andromeda’s colorful squadmates.
First up, we have Jaal, a leading member of the Angaran anti-Kett resistance. Jaal will join your crew as a liason between the Pathfinders and Resistance, and it may take some time to earn his trust, which is understandable given his people are in the midst of war that’s been raging for over 80 years. Here’s how Mass Effect: Andromeda writer Cathleen Rootsaert describes the big pastel-colored lug’s personality…
“Jaal is a very cards-on-the-table, heart-on-sleeve kind of guy. So, that can make your interactions with him very fun and interesting. He doesn't pull any punches with you, the Pathfinder, or with any of the crew.
The Angara as a species are very free with their emotions, they are very larger than life. They love you, they hug you -- they hate you, you made them mad, they punch you in the face. Even their own family members. They're very large and demonstrative. Even to the point of being sad."
All this talk about how touchy-feely Jaal is should make a certain segment of the Mass Effect community very happy. As we reported previously, Mass Effect fans have really taken to Jaal. By which I mean, they want to have sex with him. Like, super bad. Well, it sounds like Jaal will be just as eager to get hands-on with you, so bring on the purple alien cat lovin’!
Mass Effect: Andromeda touches down on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on March 21.
