Final Fantasy XV earned a bit of a mixed bag of mediocre and stellar reviews from critics, but the fact remains that it was a tremendous hit for fans. Many of you have already crossed the 100-hour threshold, and you're starved for even more content.
Thankfully Square Enix is dedicated to an impressively robust content roadmap, and our first main character story expansion debuts just a couple of weeks from now.
Gladiolus is going to play much differently than Noctis, and his background and story is completely unique as well. If you were a super-fan and tuned into Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV, then you already understand a little more about Gladiolus and his motives, but this unique episode DLC will shed a much brighter light on his struggle to attain the power he needs to protect ones he loves.
As we get hyped for Episode Gladiolus, Square Enix was cool enough to release the new DLC trailer that was shown off for the first time this past weekend at PAX East. Feast your eyes on this action-packed goodness:
You can see that Gladiolus isn't the fast and warpy worm that Noctis can be in the heat of battle. His offensive style is much slower and more methodical. Your combos and strikes will have a little bit of wind-up time, but they dish out much more damage than you're used to. Gladiolus also has an incredibly hands-on defensive style, which you'll need to indulge in order to engage a damage multiplier.
As you successfully guard against attacks with precise timing, you'll build up a rage meter that can lead to incredible damage output. You'll also charge up powerful attacks by attacking relentlessly, so Gladiolus comes off as a bit of an armored bull. We think fans will really resonate with his playstyle, as it offers a nice break from the status quo.
Let us know what you think of the trailer. Chime in on Facebook or Twitter and let us know if this new footage was enough to convince you to invest Final Fantasy XV's DLC. At first I had no interest in the season pass, but now I'm having second thoughts. Anyone else?
