Someone Ran Through Titanfall 2’s Gauntlet In Record Time – Backwards

by Robert Workman

Titanfall 2 continues to be one of the best first-person shooters on the planet, and one particular challenge that a lot of players like to take on in the game is “The Gauntlet”, the time trial course that they’re introduced to at the beginning of the game.

Many players have been trying to run through the course to beat its 33.65 second record time in order to earn the “Become a Master” Trophy, though some have found it to be a rather tricky process. However, one player, a YouTuber by the name of Thoreaufare, has managed to beat the time with ease. Better yet, he’s managed to do so backwards. No, we’re not kidding you.

In the first video, posted below, he runs through the Gauntlet in under 30 seconds, using a Frag Boost to his advantage. Sure, he almost dies in the process – kind of stupid to do on a Time Trial course – but the run itself is pretty damn impressive, if we do say so ourselves.

But then he posted another video where he did the run again, without the Frag Boost, and even though he came up short of the 33.65 record time (he ended up somewhere around 34.70), it’s still a damn good run, and kind of makes us want to try it now. (Although, knowing us, we’ll probably run into too many damn walls to make it a worthwhile run.)

It’s certainly a challenge for players to try out, especially the idea that you can run backwards and nail some ideal frags in the process – we’re talking about hitting and running with an utmost amount of precision. Still, if you’re a Titanfall 2 devotee – or you just want to give it a try to say you’ve done everything in the game – it’s worth taking on.

Titanfall 2 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Origin PC.
