The magic and adventure of Pirates of the Caribbean is making its way from the silver screen to the small screen -- again. JOYCITY, a Korean game developer and publisher, announced today that it will be launching Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War, an ambitious new "naval warfare" MMO based on Disney's hit franchise.

"In-game, players will become pirates in the world of the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' and will experience different playstyles with various strategies through building and ship construction and troops training. Furthermore, players can form an alliance to battle against each other or defeat common monsters floating the sea.  Equally, players will encounter familiar characters from 'Pirates of the Caribbean,' including 'Jack Sparrow,' 'Captain Barbossa' and 'Will Turner.'"

If you're ready to rule the seas with an iron hook as the ultimate swashbuckler, you can go ahead and pre-register for Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War on the iTunes app store and the Google Play Store. By pre-registering, you'll be notified the moment the game is available to download and play. Additionally, JOYCITY is extending some exclusive rewards for those who pre-register, so there's some extra incentive there. More about the game:

  • THE OCEAN IS YOURS TO RULE
Become a legendary pirate captain and plan out assaults against millions of other pirates from all around the world in the most original pirate war game!

  • PREPARE FOR THE FIERCE PIRATE BATTLE ROYALE
Create or join a pirate alliance to rally forces to battle against supernatural creatures and other sea rovers on the vast open seas.

  • RELIVE THE ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW
Immerse yourself in the story mode experience. Stand by Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Captain Barbossa, and all your other favorite pirates to partake in the great tales of Pirates of the Caribbean.

“We’re confident that this mobile game will align with the quality and high entertainment value that fans have come to expect from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise,” said Hanseo Jo, COO, JOYCITY. “Players will be able to experience the same fun and excitement from the game as they’ve felt from the movies themselves.”
