Dishonored 2 Will Soon Be Getting A Free Trial

by Robert Workman

Considering the hectic holiday season rush of games that came last year, a few of you might have missed out on Dishonored 2, Bethesda’s exquisite follow-up to the original stealth/action/adventure game. If that’s the case, however, you’ve got another opportunity to catch up on it, and it’s coming soon.

Bethesda has announced that it will release a special free trial version of Dishonored 2 later this week, set to arrive on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on April 6th. In it, you’ll be able to dive into the first missions of the campaign as either the royal protector, Corvo Altano, or the Empress Emily Kaldwin.

You can download the free trial (once available) through the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Marketplace and Steam once it becomes available a bit later this week. On top of that, any progress that you make in the trial will enable you to move over your saves from the trial version, without missing a beat in progress. That means you’ll be able to pick right back up into the game’s campaign without missing a beat.

In case you missed out on the game, Bethesda provided a full recap of what you can expect:

“Take on the role of a supernatural assassin in Dishonored 2, the follow-up to Arkane Studio’s first-person action blockbuster that earned more than 100 ‘Game of the Year’ honors,” the company noted. “When the mad witch Delilah seizes the throne, the fate of your Empire is left hanging in the balance. As Emily or Corvo, travel beyond the legendary streets of Dunwall to Karnaca, the once-dazzling coastal city that holds the keys to restoring Emily to power. Armed with the Mark of the Outsider, how far will you go to hunt down your enemies - and take back what’s yours? How will you combine your powerful supernatural abilities, weapons and gadgets to eliminate your enemies?”

We reviewed Dishonored 2 late last year, and found it to be a highly entertaining adventure, just like the original game that followed it. If you haven’t checked it out yet (or you’ve been too busy playing other games), make sure you don’t miss out on the trial!

Dishonored 2 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
