NetherRealm just released an in-depth look at Catwoman in Injustice 2. She's an incredibly quick and nimble fighter, and we're getting our first look at her combos, special moves, and special finisher. Check it out right here:
One thing that has us most excited about Injustice 2 as a whole is just how perfectly NetherRealm has managed to capture the personalities of all of these heroes and villains so perfectly in their respective fighting styles. Catwoman, perhaps more than any other hero or villain we've seen so far, has been recreated perfectly as a fast, agile, tricky offensive powerhouse.
Catwoman is going to be a favorite for those fighters who love to continually poke their opponents and keep them guessing. One of our favorite maneuvers shown off in the video can be seen at the 0:28 second mark. See how Catwoman is able to use a part of the stage on the far right side to somersault over her opponent and get back to the middle of platform. Now only will this be a really great way to chain together some mixups and pound your enemies on both sides of their face, we imagine that this will be an excellent defensive move as well. Backed into a corner? Notice something big and sturdy nearby? Pounce off of that thing and give yourself a little breathing room!
Starting around the 0:50 second mark we see a few more indispensable defensive moves. Notice how Catwoman, much like Atrocitus, can send out a ferocious feline helper ahead of her when in a pinch. In Catwoman's case you can think of it as a slow-moving fireball. Toss out your cat to make an enemy second-guess their approach, or else to keep them glued to one spot while you approach for a grab or combo setup. We also see at around 0:57 that Catwoman is able to tap into the Matrix and perform a projectile dodge.
We love her. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to play as Catwoman during the initial beta, so we're hoping NetherRealm will push out another build with more characters for a second round of testing. If not, we don't have too much longer to wait. Injustice 2 comes out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and mobile on May 16. Get caught up on every single confirmed playable character right here.
