Have you finally finished your epic quest through The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? Looking for something else with some similar roleplaying flavor on the Nintendo Switch? Then you might want to check out I Am Setsuna. A beautiful little throwback to classic Square Enix JRPG series like Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger, I Am Setsuna is absolutely worth a shot, and as a bonus, it comes with some exclusive content on the Switch.
I Am Setsuna will soon get the additional player vs. player Temporal Battle Arena mode, free of charge. Here’s how Square Enix describes the add-on content (thanks to Gematsu for some translation help):
“Temporal Battle Arena is an exciting new party on party colosseum battle mode! Bring the strongest of Setsuna's guardians to claim rewards!
If you download the free DLC, advance the main story, and talk to a character appearing in a specific map, you can enter the Temporal Battle Arena. Here you can upload your own battle data, download other players’ battle data and engage in AI matches with other parties. If you win in the Temporal Battle arena you will randomly obtain spritnite stones held by your opponent. Party equipment is the key to victory or defeat, so try various settings and aim for victory.”
So, basically, Temporal Battle Arena is all about party bragging rights. Prove your equipment is better than your friends’ and get some loot as a reward. Honestly, the mode doesn’t look too thrilling, but it’s still nice to see a third-party Nintendo Switch game with exclusive features, even if they’re minor ones.
