Sony Kicks Off Its Annual Road To Greatness Tour

by Robert Workman

Sony’s having a pretty great year in games thus far, with blockbusters like MLB The Show 17, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Gravity Rush 2 being enjoyed by thousands. But not content on letting people go to the games, the company is once again bringing the games to them.

It has announced that it is bringing back its Road To Greatness tour, which kicks off this weekend and will be making a number of stops throughout the summer, leading into the fall season. Only a few stops have been scheduled thus far, but more are expected to be announced in the weeks ahead, so fans can become more involved with Sony fun.

The tour will all be embedded into a large, interactive PlayStation-branded truck, featuring playable kiosks for current and upcoming hit games in the PlayStation 4 line-up. More than likely, it’ll also be the place to try out the PlayStation 4 Pro, in case you want to see where the differences in hardware lie.

Here’s the line-up of tour dates thus far, but keep in mind that Sony is adding more as time goes on, including stops that lead into the fall season:

Silicon Valley Comic Con – April 21-23 Silicon Valley, CA
Chennault International Air Show – April 28-30 Lake Charles, LA
SunFest – May 3-7 West Palm Beach, FL
Northern Invasion – May 13-14 Somerset, WI
Hangout Music Festival – May 19-21 Gulf Shores, AL
Rocklahoma – May 26-28 Pryor, OK
Burnbury Music Festival – June 2-4 Cincinnati, OH
Scott Field Air Show – June 10-11 Scott AFB, IL
Firefly Music Festival – June 15-18 Dover, DE

In addition to being able to try out a number of hit games, attendees can also snag a rare PlayStation Collectible Card #75 to add to their collections.

Contests will also be a part of the tour, as fans will be able to record videos that recreate their favorite scene from the Uncharted saga, as well as a chance to chime in on their fandom for Gran Turismo. Doing so will enable them to enter contests for both games, where they could win a PlayStation prize pack that’s worth well over $1,000.
