Microsoft plans to unleash the ultra-powerful Project Scorpio this year, but it remains somewhat unclear how they intend to show off the Xbox revamp’s capabilities. What games will take advantage of the system’s extra power? It’s rumored first-party games like Forza Motorsport 7, State of Decay 2, and Crackdown 3 will be tailored to the system, and it seems we may be able to add Star Wars Battlefront II to that list.
In a recent video, Xbox Live’s Major Nelson had this to say about Star Wars Battlefront II…
“With Project Scorpio coming this Holiday, I can’t wait to experience the Star Wars galaxy like never before. If you are a member of EA Access, you will be able to start playing the game on November 9, before the game releases on November 17. Between EA Access and Project Scorpio, Xbox will be the best place to play your favorite Star Wars heroes.”
Hmmmm! He certainly seems to be hinting that Star Wars Battlefront II may perform better on Project Scorpio, and being able to get the game eight days early (EA Access isn’t available on PS4) is nothing to sneeze at!
This generation, fans have had to get used to a good percentage of major games favoring the industry-leading PS4 with extra features and exclusive content. Most recently, it was revealed both Destiny 2 and Call of Duty: WWII will have PS4 timed-exclusive content. So, if Stars Wars Battlefront II really does play and/or look better on Project Scorpio, you can bet you bottom dollar Microsoft will make a big deal of it. And why not? It looks like Battlefront II has a legitimate shot to be the biggest game of 2017.
