Still not sure if Prey is for you? Come on, it’s the new game from Dishonored developer Arkane Studios! Still not convinced? Well, maybe you should check out these posts we’ve done about Prey’s alien powers, Neuromod abilities, and varied tools and weapons. Still any holdouts? Well, okay, maybe you should actually play the game!
Today Bethesda released a one-hour Prey demo for Xbox One and PS4. Players will be able to explore the Talos I space station and mess around with some weapons and abilities. While Bethesda is limiting the amount of time players can sink into Prey during the demo, they aren’t walling anything off – see how far you can get before the hour runs out! Arkane games are all about freedom, so get out there and have fun!
But wait, what about PC gamers? For whatever reason, they aren’t included in the demo deal. Bethesda has thrown them a bone by releasing Prey’s PC specs, though:
CPU: Intel i5-2400, AMD FX-8320
GPU: GTX 660 2GB, AMD Radeon 7850 2GB
CPU: Intel i7-2600K, AMD FX-8350
GPU: GTX 970 4GB, AMD R9 290 4GB
PC Advanced Settings Include
Object Detail, Shadow Quality, Texture Quality, Anisotropic Filtering, Anti-Aliasing, Horizontal Field of View, Screen Space Directional Occlusion, Screen Space Reflections
Pretty standard requirements! Your old netbook won’t play Prey, but don’t exactly need a monster gaming rig, either. Bethesda has also revealed how much disk space Prey will take up on consoles – the Xbox One version will take up 34.9 to 35.7GB, while the PS4 version will gobble 38.2 to 39.5GB. Such weirdly specific numbers.
Prey sneaks on to PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on May 5.
