DICE didn't smack us in the face with any huge Star Wars Battlefront II news today, but they were pleased to announce and show off a brand new map for Battlefield 1. This is going to be a brand new night time map called "Prise de Tahure." You can find screenshots from this new map and from the previously announced "Nivelle Nights" in the gallery below. From the official summer of Battlefield update:
"We’re glad to announce that a new map called 'Prise de Tahure' will be released shortly for testing on the CTE (Community Test Environment). Set in the autumn after the Nivelle Offensive, Prise de Tahure sees French troops desperately holding on to re-captured heights in the Butte-de-Tahure region. The frontline trench networks cut right through several villages facing obliteration from the constant skirmishing between German stormtroopers and French raiders. This is a war of attrition. Adaptability and tactics are the means to wear your adversary down."
DICE goes on to confirm that another recently announced night map, "Nivelle Nights," will arrive shortly. All Battlefield 1 Premium Pass holders will be able to trudge through the muddy fields 'round Malmaison and Soupir in June before anyone else. No word yet as to when Nivelle Nights will become available to non Premium Pass owners.
Last, but certainly not least, DICE would like to remind you that EA Play 2017 is right around the corner, taking place on June 10. During this special pre-E3 event, players will get their first taste of Battlefield 1's second expansion.
"The Russian army is coming to Battlefield 1, together with all-new maps, new weapons, and vehicles. Excited for the first details? On June 10, EA PLAY 2017 will connect fans around the world to EA’s biggest new games – and Battlefield 1 In the Name of the Tsar will be at the event. Whether in person or online, you’ll get the first taste of the second Battlefield 1 expansion – which will be releasing in late summer."
That about wraps things up. DICE mentioned that a patch will be dropping some time this month as well, so expect to slight tweaks and balancing adjustments.
