Bloody Zombies Invading PlayStation 4 and PS VR Later This Year

Bloody Zombies – Announce Trailer by WWG

A brand new co-op brawler in the same vein as Turtles in Time, Double Dragon, and other classic arcade beat 'em ups is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR, and it features endless hordes of undead to beat and bash. The game is called Bloody Zombies, and will be headed to a couch near you later this year.

Paw Print Games co-founder Antony White chimed in on the PlayStation Blog today to assure us that, whether playing online or with a friend by your side, Bloody Zombies will scratch that goofy, old-school, arcade action itch that we've been trying to scratch for decades now. You and your friends will choose one of four unique survivors -- Teller, Rei, Mick or Eddie -- who are the lone survivors of a massive zombie outbreak in a city that is now reduced to blood and ruin.

"There are loads of deadly zombies and bosses, who will use claws, self-destruct, and wield deadly weapons to tear you apart. You’ll need to change your tactics, customize your character’s skills, and perfect your freeform combat to survive!" You're not simply surviving, either: you're competing. As you work with your pals to power through levels, you'll be going head-to-head with players around the world to put up a high score for each stage.

Perhaps the most exciting thing about Bloody Zombies is the fact that it can be played in virtual reality. "If you have a PlayStation VR headset, you can also immerse yourself in all-out brawl with an enhanced viewpoint designed specifically for the VR player. This enables you to lean in and look around each level like never before. Discover unlockable weapons, provide tactical support, and watch over the gore as the battle rages on beneath you."

There aren't any official details or announcements about PS4 Pro support at the moment, but Antony mentioned that it's something the team at Paw Print Games is looking into, so stay tuned for more information soon. In the meantime, check out the trailer above and recruit a friend. Call of Duty won't be the only game offering a compelling zombie experience this fall!
