When we think of Dynasty Warriors we tend to think of games that make even the most powerful consoles stall and stutter. It was a Dynasty Warriors game that first convinced me of the power of the PS2 back in the day, and I think we've all at some point been drawn to the promise of hundreds of enemies on-screen getting slashed and blasted away by overpowered heroes. But did you know Dynasty Warriors has seen huge success in the mobile scene as well?

Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed is available right now on iOS and Android and, apparently, the game is really good. Aside from the typical negative reviewers complaining about the game not running on their flip phone or people whining about in-app purchases, the reviews are generally very positive, which is a surprise. You wouldn't expect such an combat-driven action game to translate well to mobile, but Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed has made the leap successfully. People are absolutely eating it up, according to Koei Tecmo:

"Nexon in conjunction with XPEC Entertainment and Koei Tecmo Games are today thrilled to announce that Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed, the latest chapter in the iconic combat action series saw an epic five million downloads since its launch a month ago." Five million downloads in a month is incredible, so you know they've done something right. If you want to check it out for yourself you can find the iOS version here, and the Android version here.

"Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed sets players out on a quest to unite the three kingdoms by using powerful ancient weapons to conquer massive hordes of unrelenting foes on the battlefield.
Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed features many ways to play, including:

  • Conquest Mode - Challenging campaign for one or multiple players
  • Skirmish - Battle in real-time with up to four players
  • Boss Fights - Bypass the underlings and skip straight to the bosses alone or in co-op
  • Raid - Steal fragments from opponents in this multiplayer mode
  • War Supply - Strategically occupy mines and acquire resources"
