Delta Fox is the worst team in the NA Challenger Series. That isn't an opinion, it's a fact. So far, they haven't managed to pick a single game, despite managing to get Voyboy so fed on one occasion that he Flame Horizoned EUnited's GBM. The team's macro play is all but nonexistent, a fact that becomes painfully clear if you watch their first match through the perspective of Scarra. EUnited didn't need to even try to smash the Delta Foxes, they just dove bottom lane until the game ended...using the same path every time.
Delta Fox is, without a doubt, the worst team in the Challenger Series, and makes a pretty good argument for being one of the worst teams to ever grace the league. Yes, the lineup is built of interesting and amusing personalities, but that doesn't make for a good team. All five of them have played competitive League at some point, to be sure, but how many of them did so recently and in the role their playing on Delta Fox? Dyrus. Even including Dyrus requires generously stretching the term "recently", as he hasn't been Team Solomid's top laner in nearly two years. To make matters worse he, along with all of his teammates, didn't exactly retire on a high note. Qtpie didn't leave esports because his streaming became so popular. He left because he was no longer good enough to compete. This was never a team designed to win matches, it was a team that was designed to catch some heads and get some followers for the org. In any other year, that would have mattered.
Delta Fox is, without a doubt, the worst team in the Challenger Series, but it doesn't matter a bit. Echo Fox could afford to take their excellent Challenger Squad and turn it into a meme team for one reason: franchising. If Delta Fox were to win the entire NA CS outright, it wouldn't matter a whit. There's nothing at stake in the tournament, so instead of competing seriously, Echo Fox decided to field a team that was literally designed for meming. Now, I'm not saying that this was good or bad, but it certainly wouldn't have been possible without franchising. Echo Fox pulled a publicity stunt, and it's working out brilliantly for them. But let's clear one thing up for the record: Delta Fox is a terrible, terrible team, and will utterly bomb in the NA Challenger Series. Root for them for the memes. Root for them because you love the streamers. But you sure as hell shouldn't take them seriously as a competitive team while doing so.
Echo Fox wanted to make their challenger roster into a joke, and they completely succeeded. In more ways than one.
