G2 and EnVyUs CSGO Invited to DreamHack Tours

  • -

The No. 9 and 14 teams in the WWG CSGO Team Rankings, Team EnVyUs and G2 Esports respectively have received invites to DreamHack Tours. DreamHack Tours will be taking place at the Vinci Congress Center from May 6 to 8 and offer a $100,000 prize pool with the winner walking away with $50,000.

The group stage will consist of two groups of four teams each. The teams will be competing in a double elimination group format with best-of-one matches being played up until the decider matches will be played as best-of-three matches. The top two teams from each group will move on to the playoffs.

The playoffs will be a single elimination bracket with all matches being best-of-three.

The team that was dubbed the French super team has yet to show anything very super since its inception. G2 has failed to impress, something many thought was for sure to happen when bringing Richard "shox" Papillon and Kenny "kennyS" Schrub into the same brand. The team has mostly been able to fend of tier two teams but has struggled to consistently compete with or take down teams ranked higher than it.

Team EnVyUs has done more than expected on the other hand. Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom's squad has shown they will not lay down and let G2 take the title of best French Counter-Strike team. EnVyUs is currently ranked five spots higher than G2 in the WWG CSGO Team Rankings. EnVyUs has slipped a little as of late, starting off on a nice streak of results, EnVyUs has started to slow down and take some losses that could see it drift downward.

Both squads have upcoming events with G2 attending the StarLadder i-League StarSeries season three finals in Kiev, Ukraine as well as DreamHack Austin in Texas. EnVyUs is set to attend the $100,000 CS_Summit event hosted by Beyond the Summit.

DreamHack Tours will announce four more invites that will be joining the aforementioned squads along with two teams that make it through qualifiers.
