The team that sits only one spot away from the title of best team in the world, No. 2 Virtus.pro has seen a dark spot in Kiev, Ukraine. The team is 1-2 in the StarLadder i-League StarSeries season three finals. The record, although not good, is not the biggest worry though. The legendary and veteran Polish squad got a taste of its own medicine when it was absolutely run over in its last two matches after taking it's first 16-4.

Going up against SK Gaming on day two in the winners match, Virtus.pro looked nowhere close to what was expected in a series that has been favoring the Poles over the Brazilians in the last couple bouts. SK Gaming would take complete control from the start, giving up only one round late in the first half to take a 14-1 lead. Virtus.pro would win the pistol and lose the following eco, setting it up for a 16-2 defeat.

Jumping into day three, many expect a resurgent and determined Virtus.pro to pull out the plow against a less than stellar looking No. 13 Ninjas in Pyjamas. It was quite the opposite. NiP would handle VP in a similar fashion as SK did, taking a strong lead going into the half at 11-4 and not looking back in the second.

Virtus.pro is on a downward trend after a second place finish at the ELEAGUE Major and a championship at DreamHack Masters Las Vegas. The team went out in the group stages in the following event, IEM Katowice and is now on the brink of elimination in Kiev.

Even with the losses and their severity, Virtus.pro is a team capable of coming back into this and making a run. The chances are looking grim, though.
