The addition of Nikola "NiKo" Kovač to an already climbing No. 5 FaZe Clan has seen the squad hoist the StarLadder i-League StarSeries season three finals trophy. FaZe took on the No. 1 team in the WWG CSGO Team Rankings, Astralis, in-game leader Finn "karrigan" Andersen's former team.

Astralis had made it to seven straight semifinals and had taken several trophies in the process including the ELEAGUE Major. FaZe had seen itself making steady progress but still lacked the necessary push to reach the top. NiKo provided that bump.

Going down narrowly in map one, FaZe managed to bounce back from the 16-14 defeat on Mirage and crush Astralis on Nuke 16-6. The third and final map would give the fans exactly what they wanted as it went the distance and then some, going into overtime. The European mix would conquer the Danes 19-17 and win its first title. Setting up what is sure to be one of the best rivalries in Counter-Strike.
