ICYMI: Rainbow Six Siege is free to play this weekend on PS4 and PC. Should you get addicted and decide you want the full game (if this is your first time playing Siege this is likely), you will be able to purchase the full version of the game at a discount. The gold and standard editions will be 50% off on PC, and up to 57% off on PS4.
Ubisoft is getting you hooked just in time for the next season of Rainbow Six Siege: Operation Red Crow. Details about our new operators and new map have been trickling out for a few days, but now we finally know who we're dealing with. More importantly, we know when we'll be able to play with them.
Operation Red Crow Kicks Off Next Week
Ubisoft revealed that Red Crow rolls out on November 17. Season Pass holders will be able to play as both of the new operators, Hibana and Echo, on the 17th, but everyone else will have to wait until November 24. The new map, Skyscraper, will be free to everyone.
"In Operation Red Crow, two S.A.T. Operators join Team Rainbow to neutralize the threat residing in our new free map, "Skyscraper". Officially classified until 1996, Japan’s Special Assault Team (S.A.T.) is comprised of small highly trained teams spread throughout Japan."
More on Hibana:
"Yumiko Imagawa is a Nagoya native who joined the National Police Academy when she was 18 years old. Shortly after, she was recruited by the Aichi Prefectural Police Department Special Unit. Due to her explosive leadership skills on the field, she gained the nickname Hibana, which means 'Spark.'
Hibana is an expert at gaining entry in high risk areas thanks to her explosive leadership on the field. She is equipped with the SuperNova and Type-89 as primary weapons, allowing for rapid movement and providing precise room-to-room clearings."
More on Echo:
"S.A.T. Operator Masaru Enatsu was born in Suginami City, Tokyo, a location known for its several animation studios and technology companies. After completing his bachelor’s degree at Tokyo Metropolitan University, Enatsu joined the National Police Academy. He was then recruited by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Special Unit before transferring to the Aichi Unit.
Echo, a tactical and technology-driven Operator, is also equipped with the SuperNova, along with the MP5SD4 as primary weapons, allowing him to proceed rapidly and precisely in Close Quarter Battle contexts."
More on Skyscraper:
"Get ready for vertiginous rappels in the hazy morning sun with Rainbow Six Siege’s Season Four Operation Red Crow. Our fourth Post-Launch free map is perched high above the streets of Nagoya, Japan, set on top of Skyscraper. 'We played with various opposites while designing this map. For instance we mixed beauty with bloodshed, serenity with vertigo, and art with destruction. The goal was to trigger a sense of vertigo, no matter where you stood in the map.'"
Ubisoft will be debuting both new operators, as well as the new map, during the Rainbow Six Pro League Season 3 Finals stream on Sunday, November 13. You can see the world premier gameplay footage and watch the Pro League Finals on the official Rainbow Six Twitch channel (if you can tear yourself away from the game).
