Terry Crews Just Paid a Visit To Blizzard…But What Does It Mean?

by Robert Workman

Terry Crews is an avid gamer. He certainly doesn’t hide that fact, even when he’s working on shows like Brooklyn Nine Nine and films like The Expendables.

So it shouldn’t be a surprise then that he’s been highly recommended for the role of Doomfist in Blizzard’s Overwatch, and even got a video where his voiceovers were nicely tied over into the game. So imagine our surprise when, yep, he showed up at Blizzard like clockwork.

Crews posted a pic on Facebook showing his recent visit to the studio, nothing, “LOVED my visit with the geniuses at BLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT today, and meeting the creators of one of my favorite games! OVERWATCH! LETS GO!”

This could very well tie in with speculation that Blizzard is, in fact, considering the actor for the role of Doomfist, but neither the company nor Crews will confirm that it’s happening. At least, not yet. But still, Crews dropping by the studio and getting to chat with the team is a step in the right direction, and hopefully, when 2017 rolls around, we’ll see him have some sort of presence in the game…especially as Doomfist.

For the time being, though, fans are currently celebrating Overwatch’s holiday event, which has been in full swing for the last day and a half now. Fans have been unlocking all sort of Christmas-y goodies in the game, while partaking in some new modes and enjoying the scenic view. Blizzard did a good job providing lots of fan service for this mode, so it wouldn’t surprise if it the team did sign in Mr. Crews to voice Doomfist or another character within the game. Guess we’ll see what happens over the next few weeks…

In the meantime, be sure to enjoy the holiday event. It’s a lot of fun.

Overwatch is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
