ELEAGUE Major: CS:GO Deities Turn Their Backs on No. 12 GODSENT, Lose to No. 17 Gambit

by Kevin Hitt

It looks like the CSGO Deities have turned their backs on No. 12 GODSENT. One day after taking down the No. 1 team in the WWG CS:GO Team Rankings in Astralis, No. 17 Gambit Gaming defeated GODSENT in precise fashion, 16-9 on Overpass.

Gambit played a very well thought out, methodical game in both halves, but was exceptional on the CT side winning 11-4. In the second half, Gambit was clearly in control, winning five out of the next 10 rounds to secure their second win of the ELEAGUE Major.

GODSENT now stands at 1-1, while Gambit Gaming rises to 2-0.

Gambit was led by Adren and his 28/14 K/D with an exceptional ADR of 106.5. Adren was suberb in setting up defensively during the match, getting a quad kill early on the CT side and generally giving a clinic on how to use the AWP.

Dosia was also in excellent form for Gambit, destroying an eco-round by GODSENT with a triple-kill in Round 7 and getting another triple-kill in round 20 to open up the bomb site. He finished with a 20/12 K/D.

Both GODSENT and Gambit Gaming are in good position to make it out of the group stage and will know more as the day 3 schedule is released later on Monday evening.
