by Steven Cropley

The second match of day two would see unranked Misfits take on No. 14 fnatic, the reformed super team. fnatic coming off of a 16-8 defeat against No. 11 Gambit Gaming while Misfits put up a respectable fight against No. 3 in the WWG CSGO Team Rankings, Virtus.pro but fell 16-12.

The Swedish side came out swinging on the terrorist side of Mirage, getting off to a 5-0 start thanks to a 1v2 clutch by Robin "flusha" Rönnquist. Round six would give the North American team its first round which it could turn into two before fnatic grabbed three more thanks to two bomb explosions. Misfits would manage just two more rounds before fnatic ended the half with another three round streak to lead 11-4 switching to the counter-terrorist side of Mirage.

Getting the pistol round to start the second half would give Misfits the momentum as it picked up the following two anti-eco's to work towards closing the halftime gap. Misfits would still be down, however, going into the first gun around at 7-11 in favor of the Swedes. A split on the B bomb site would see Misfits grab its eighth and put fnatic onto a pistol only round which after a victory would bring the American side within two. On its next buy fnatic would find its composure, taking round 21. The Swedish side would be able to string together more on its way to a 16-9 victory, not giving up another round on its way to sending the North American squad of Misfits home.

fnatic will move on to play the loser of the Virtus.pro and Gambit Gaming match taking place later today.
