For some, being a professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player has transitioned from being something they love to something they do. So whenever we see a player that truly loves the game open up and put themselves in an emotionally vulnerable position, it resonates.
That was exactly the case when a fan from Reddit (kscott13) snapped a picture of Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund sitting down, alone, watching the game he loves. When everyone else was about partaking in the Las Vegas, Nevada atmosphere, Get_RiGhT was still watching the game he loves, still working.
He didn’t know it then, but GeT_RiGhT was deeply affected by this picture, so much so, that he took to Facebook an offered up an emotional look as to what he saw and remembers.
“Saw this picture over at the reddit page and thought it's giving some sort of truth about me, which is nice I guess.
I do really enjoy watching CS and have since long long time, can't really put a number or say exactly how long I've done that…but the big games, big stages, places where tours are played in makes me surprised on how big this game is and what I've dreamed to make the game that big as it is now.. It's just very important for me personally that people take care of this beautiful scene, since I've been here for a long time, been a Fan for a even probably longer time.
It's just pure respect, love and dedication I have for all the different versions of CS.. I don't really know how I tried to write this out, nor how it sounds like since it's probably just a big mess of text, but I just wanted to say something about the picture since I know I will come home (on Tuesday) and still turn on my second computer and watch around 10+ of CS when I'm doing my DM round.”
It’s moment like these where a usually guarded CS:GO player gives you a glimpse into his fun-loving, CS:GO playing soul and it makes you smile. It’s something so real that is creates a stronger bond between the game, the player, and the fans.
Bravo GeT_RiGhT. Bravo.
