Gambit Esports Signs CSGO Academy Team

by Steven Cropley

The organisation behind the No. 6 team in the WWG CSGO Team Rankings has decided one team is not enough. Gambit Esports has expanded with its decision to create an academy team. "We see big potential in forming an academy team in CS:GO and from our side, we will provide all the needed resources for the young players to develop," the organisation said in a post on its website.

Picking up a squad of up-coming Russian players, Gambit looks towards the future in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

"Let us note, that Gambit Academy is made up of young players, who still are to make a name for themselves in the competitive scene. We are not expecting bright victories right now, but we are waiting for the gradual and stable growth of the team under the supervision of the coach and manager. We signed contracts with the players expecting long-term prospects."

The team is currently low on the totem pole, competing in the Russian division of ESEA Open as well as season 12 of CEVO Intermediate. The team will be looking to compete in the CIS Minor Championship as well as attend other European competitions that it can such as Copenhagen Games 2017.
