The group of questions has received some answers.
While the final standings going into the playoffs are not yet set, No. 1 Astralis will be joined by No. 8 and 13, FaZe Clan and Immortals in the playoffs.
The No. 1 team in the WWG CSGO Team Rankings opened up with victories over No. 6 OpTic Gaming and No. 7 Ninjas in Pyjamas before landing its first loss against Immortals. Immortals would be the only team to find success against the world's best team as Astralis would finish up group player with wins over No. 11 fnatic and FaZe.
FaZe would go on a 4-0 streak in its debut with the recently acquired star, Nikola "NiKo" Kovač. The European mix had some convincing wins that included 16-6 wins over Immortals the Swedish team, NiP. A 16-11 and 16-12 win against fnatic and OpTic respectively would be contested a bit more but still solid wins. In the final match of the day, FaZe met Astralis, a battle that would see FaZe get its first loss with its new roster with a final score of 16-8 favoring the Danish side.
Immortals did what needed to be done. The Brazilian squad began its first international event in some time and its first event with Lincoln "fnx" Lau taking on a fierce FaZe team. The 16-6 thrashing would not linger on the team's mind for long, however, as it bounced back with four straight wins starting with a takedown of North America's OpTic Gaming. From there the Brazilian side would show what it has been doing in its time away, with a 16-12 win over the No. 1 team in the world before two 16-14 victories against two teams in the top 11.
Group B will take place tomorrow, March 2 in Katowice, Poland.
