No. 11 Immortals pulled off the upset against the No. 5 team in the WWG CSGO Team Rankings, North in the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice quarterfinals. The Brazilian squad would come away with a 2-1 victory and it was quite the highlight reel for Henrique 'hen1' Teles.
North was one of three Danish teams to come out of the group stage, making up 50 percent of the total players in the playoffs at 15 out of 30 hailing from Denmark. Now there are 10.
Immortals would start off in dominant fashion on map one, cruising through the terrorist side of Cache to a 13-2 lead at the half. North would not go down that easy, however, clawing back into the game with a dominant half of its own. However, in the end, the Danes would fall one round short of matching the Brazilians, losing map one. A +14 kill-to-death ratio and 102.6 average damage per round for hen1 on Cache would be only the start of the Brazilian player's rampage.
Map two, Overpass, would be an even tighter map. Immortals would once again be the top dog going into the second half with a 9-6 lead. North would manage to match it the second go around, forcing overtime after a comeback in the second half. Overtime would be all about the Danes as they went undefeated to reach a 19-15 victory and force a map three.
The final map was Cobblestone, and as with Cache was turned into hen1's playground. The AWP star would lead his team to an 11-4 halftime lead from the terrorist side. This time, however, Immortals would not allow the Danish side to get its footing back into the map. Although North took the pistol and following eco round, Immortals took control from there and won five in a row to come away victorious in dominant fashion at 16-6.
Immortals will move into a semifinal matchup against No. 8 FaZe Clan tomorrow, March 4.
