Dota 2: Virtus.pro Dominate in Route to Kiev Major Qualification

  • -

The first Valve sponsored Major to take place in the CIS region and the second Major of the 2016-2017 season, the Kiev Major is gaining a new member to its lineup of teams. Virtus.pro has made it through the CIS region qualifier with an undefeated run of 12-0, taking down its finalist opponents a total of three times.

Virtus.pro went 9-0 through the group stage before meeting Na'Vi for a second time in the first round of the playoffs. VP would defeat Na'Vi 2-1 and continue its undefeated run with another 2-1 victory, this time over Team Empire in the winners final. Na'Vi would bounce back in the losers bracket, securing a 2-0 over Team Spirit before following in Virtus.pro's shoes by taking down Team Empire 2-1 to get a third match with the bears.

The third match would not bode any better for Na'Vi as it fell with relative ease to the dominant Virtus.pro. A swift 2-0 saw the bears roll through, taking the event and qualification without looking back.
