Team Brawl: Hearthstone Returns For A Second Season

by Robert Workman

Heads up, Hearthstone fans. Another great season of Team Brawl is coming your way, courtesy of the folks at Red Bull.

The company has announced the first details for the forthcoming competition, which will once again put players into the mix of Team Brawl, putting down their best cards to leave their opponents in the dust.

The season will consist of three different events, all of which will be held at Red Bull’s esports studio, which is located in Santa Monica. The first event actually kicks off this weekend, starting on April 15th, while the second will take place on August 5th, and the season closer, the third and final event, happening on December 15th.

In the event, teams will be able to choose three players to pit against others on the battlefield. They’ll be given a choice of 240 cards in all, and players must form their own deck of 30 cards out of that available deck. Once they do, they’ll participate in a round robin formatted tournament, with the first team attaining victory by winning with all three decks in a match.

“Fans around the world can root for their favorite pro Hearthstone players, including members of Tempo Storm, Team SoloMid, Team Luminosity and Team Dignitas. Team Brawl: Hearthstone will be shoutcasted by industry luminaries including Dan ‘Frodan’ Chou and Nathan "Admirable" Zamora,” the company noted.

There are certain rules to the competition, including the following:

  • Teams blind pick one of their three decks for combat against the opposing team
    ● Once a deck wins a game, it cannot be used again
    ● First team to win with each of their three decks wins the match

It sounds like it’s going to be a great time, and fans can watch all the action happen live on Red Bull’s esports channel on Twitch, so they can see who moves on to the next round. We certainly wish all the players the best of luck – and make sure you get the right cards for the job. This one’s going to be fun to watch.

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is available now for both mobile devices and PC.
