Konstantinos "FORG1VEN" Tzortziou is one of League of Legends most skilled players in history. His mechanical prowess has separated him from many throughout his career. However; skill can only take you so far as off-Rift issues and personality clashes have made FORG1VEN a polarizing figure for both the right and wrong reasons.
That being said, he's still a very talented player. He actively streams and has since announced that he'll be returning to the professional League of Legends scene.
For those of you who don't remember his exit, let's catch you up. He previously said, "My intention is to be done with the competitive scene of League of Legends. I have tried it in the past but for specific instances or circumstances like H2K in Summer I returned to help a team that would otherwise be almost relegated."
Time changes things. The ADC recently tweeted out his intentions of playing competitively again, stating that he's going to compete in the LGC.
Gonna compete in LGC in order to train at competitive games in case i compete in any Summer professional league (not EU) since soloq sucks.— FORG1VEN (@FORG1VENGRE) March 31, 2017
The most important thing to take away here is the fact that he blatantly said: "not EU".
With that being said, let's take a peek at some possible landing spots for the ADC.
Team Liquid have the biggest hole(s) that they need answers for. After a split filled with many roster moves, they'll be facing more of a roster shuffle as the team approaches the NA LCS Summer Split.
The team started the split with Piglet in the bot lane as the teams starting ADC. After Goldenglue stumbled his way through several weeks, the team finally decided to slide Piglet to the mid lane. The team then signed Youngbin to the team to start. That was a short lived experiment as the team signed Doublelift shortly after to close the split out.
It's been all but said that Doublelift would be starting for Team SoloMid once the Summer Split rolls along so Team Liquid will definitely be in the market for a starting ADC.
You might be thinking, how does a personality like FORG1VEN fit into Team Liquid? The answer is quite simple. It doesn't matter.
At this point, Team Liquid will do anything to avoid the trouble they went through last year. That includes signing the best available talent. FORG1VEN has spoken about his desire to play in North America in the past and would immediately be surrounded by some strong players on Team Liquid's roster.
A few key moves in the off-season, mixed with the addition of FORG1VEN could make Team Liquid a much better team without having to go through all of the turbulence over again like they did during the
FORG1VEN just wants to play again. He doesn't really care where it is (except it can't be in EU). Echo Fox should have a prime opportunity for FORG1VEN if the team decides to part ways with their current ADC, Keith.
Keith has been with Echo Fox since January of 2016 and the team is yet to yield positive results other than not being relegated. This split was supposed to be the split they took things to the next level according to many analysts around the scene. Instead, they stumbled their way towards the bottom of the standings.
Statistically, Keith was one of the worst ADC's in all of North America. His 2.7 KDA along with his very low kill participation rate of 59.9% screams that there's room for improvement. Don't be surprised if Keith is let go by the organization.
With that being said, there's room for FORG1VEN on this team. Looper is in the top lane and has shown improvement since the start of the split. Akaadian is an up and coming jungler who plays a very aggressive game style that could tailor to FORG1VEN's needs. Also don't forget about Froggen who is a steady presence in the mid lane.
In terms of personalities, this is a very tame team, to say the least. With Echo Fox dying to take the next step towards the playoffs, they should be on the hunt for an immediate replacement for their weakest link, Keith.
Under the Echo Fox brand, FORG1VEN would be treated like a king and given all the support he could ever need and want.
This is a very real possibility for the ADC, despite many not wanting it to be. Perhaps teams don't want the history of drama associated with the veteran AD carry. We're seeing teams go with rookies in the bot lane or imported talent instead of signing veterans in the scene.
Take a look at the Immortals. They picked up Cody Sun who was, yes, rough around the edges to start but has molded into a serviceable ADC in NA. H2K in Europe went with the import route and picked up Nuclear and Chei. Nuclear from Sbenu Sonicboom and Chei from Jin Air Green Wings.
FORG1VEN isn't washed up by any means. Those who have witnessed his stream have been seen that his skills and mechanical genius are both still on point. All it will take is one team to roll the dice on a player looking to get out of Europe.
