This week on The Invade, Esports Expert Mark Horner joined Matt Best on the desk to chat about one of the powerhouses in the EU LCS, G2 Esports. The duo would go on to speak about what G2 has to offer in the playoffs as well as if fans should be worried about their loss to ROCCAT to round out the split.

At first, Horner was quick to point out G2's flaws. "G2 almost went undefeated this spring split but were finally bested by ROCCAT of all teams. Some may see this loss as a game that held no value for G2, but I think that this loss to ROCCAT shows some weaknesses for the G2 squad," said Horner.

While G2 are talented, to say the least, they have an opening in their armor that makes them vulnerable to teams during arguably the most crucial part of the game. "There is one thing that I believe can derail G2's title dreams and that is how weak this team looks when it comes to executing and identifying priorities in the late game. This became very apparent against ROCCAT as G2 looked mostly like a chicken who just had its head cut off. G2 were prioritizing kills and playing out of position instead of focusing on objectives and working together to come out on top from the late game."

Even with that being said, Horner still believes in G2's chances saying, "If G2 can address their weakness in the late game, G2 will become the champions of the 2017 EU LCS Spring Split."

G2 finished the split with a record of 12-1 at the top of Group A while also being the only team with one or fewer losses. The team automatically has a bye into the semifinals and will see action on April 15.
