Yep, you read that right! Fire up your League of Legends client and get your hands on the two latest champions, Xayah and Rakan.
The dual release champs form a combo that should be seen in the bot lane quite often as one of their passives make them work hand-in-hand when they are on the same team. "He sets 'em up, she knocks 'em down."
"Rakan and Xayah's hidden passive is called Lover's Leap, and it is actually a pretty interesting ability, all things considered," said James Bates, WWG's League of Legends Writer and Analyst. "It allows either Xayah or Rakan to join the other in their recall animation, syncing up their trip back to base. Thus, Rakan can feel free to do something like place a quick ward, then jump into base at the same time as her. It's may seem more thematic than useful, but I assure you that it's actually much more powerful than it seems, especially since to farm just that one more minion she needs for her next item."
Xayah is an offensive machine. Her Q is called Double Daggers which makes her throw two blades in a line and all enemies that are hit leave feathers where they were struck. Those feathers then empower her E ability called Bladecaller. Bladecaller summons all of the feathers left behind on the battlefield to her and strikes all enemies along the way. If a target is struck by multiple feathers at the same time, the target is rooted for a short duration. Xayah's W is Deadly Plumage and it empowers Xayah's next few auto attacks. If Rakan is nearby, he will also get the buff. Going back to the feathers, her ultimate, Featherstorm; relies on them heavily. "Upon activation, Xayah will leap up into the air and become untargetable, though she can still move," said Bates. "After a short delay, she hurls a fan of feathers in cone, damaging all enemies that they strike. The feathers lie on the ground where they are thrown, easily setting up a Bladestorm root, meaning that the setup required to make Xayah work in a teamfight is rather minimal"
On the other side of the duo, Rakan's kit is quite simple. His passive, Fey Feathers, gives him a regenerating shield that can even become active in combat. His Q is gleaming quill which is similar to Xayah's but it does less damage. However, it triggers a delayed heal in the area around Rakan. Grand Entrance is Rakan's W and he jumps into the target area, performs a knock up in the AoE and is beautiful for setting things up. His E is called Battle Dance which is a long-range instant dash which targets an allied champion and brings Rakan to their side and shields them. If the target is Xayah, the range becomes ridiculous. Rakan's ultimate transforms the support into a ball of energy that dashes around the Rift charming every enemy he comes into contact with.
