The latest League of Legends patch, 7.8, was the patch before the 2017 Mid-Season Invitational. Mid-Season patches often offer changes to what the community has complained about the most.
Two major things will be coming out after Patch 7.9 including the long awaited changes to a certain burrowing jungler and an in-game change that many people will definitely love. Hint: There's a new ultimate for the jungler that's in the works (he's also in the picture above) and you might be able to save five minutes of your day.
Recently Meddler, League of Legends Lead Gameplay Designer hit up the message boards and chatted about a couple of changes that are coming when 7.9 has come and gone.
About three months ago, Rek'Sai was teased to be getting a change according to Meddler. He said, "We've got a few other mini-reworks that'll be first though. Guessing Rek'Sai will be the next, work's showing promise on her though is still a while off being finished. Focus of that update's on shifting her more towards diver and less tank (so more rewards for building AD, W likely shifting to single target knockup so less of her power's there etc)."
Three months later, Riot has revisited the jungler. Meddler this time said, "Speaking of post mid-season things we're finally in a place where we've got some of the needed art time to work on Rek'Sai's mini update. Apologies for the delay on this one since we first mentioned it, in retrospect it's a case where we might want to have waited until the schedule was a bit more locked down before talking about its progress."
Basically, they spoke too soon in promising Rek'Sai changes and are now finally getting around to them.
Rek'Sai is slated to get tweaked to the point where she can dive better. Things that have been seen on the boards include a new ultimate ability being teased as well as her W ability turning into a single target knockup.
Surrender at 15
Slam /ff into your keyboard as much as you want but if it's not past 20 minutes, you can't even do it. This leads people into running head first into towers and just feeding, therefore wasting 20 minutes of your day and making you a miserable person to deal with.
Fret no longer, losers! By losers, I mean it lovingly because you only surrender when you're losing. Riot plans on visiting the results of their surrender at 15 option that was tested in Oceania. "We'll be getting back to looking at/talking about the status of the test in Oceania soon after mid-season. Bunch of thoughts on how it went and what we should or shouldn't do next then," said Meddler.
