Unless you have one of Orianna's limited edition skins, your choices are very limited. Yes, she does have a lot of skins available, but most aren't available all year long. When League of Legends announced that the mid laner would be getting a new skin along the Dark Star line, people were quite excited.

According to James Bates, the choice to have Orianna as a Dark Star skin recipient was quite surprising. "Orianna was a choice that no one expected. Orianna already has a surfeit of skins at her disposal and, more importantly, the VFX work required to execute Dark Star Orianna appropriately would be quite the investment. However, it appears that investment was one that Riot was more than willing to make."

"Carefully examining and disassembling any planets she comes across is all part of Dark Star Orianna's haunting performance. The galaxies are her stage, and we are the unfortunate actors in her final scene," said Riot LoveStrut.

Riot LoveStrut also included details for her upcoming skin which includes:

  • All-new model and textures (A galaxy swirls around the ominous ballerina.)
  • All-new VFX (The black hole within her ball harnesses the power of a supernova.)
  • All-new SFX (A symphony of space and screams.)
  • All-new animations (Dark Star Orianna gracefully selects which planet has reached its finale.)
  • Set to be 1350 RP (prices are subject to change.)

"We've been gathering feedback from you all, and so far we've put in some VFX changes to her W and R," said Riot LoveStrut. Since the announcement, people have complained about her R and W VFX, stating that they were dull and boring. Since then, however; Riot has retooled the VFX and made her R a dark star that pulls in upon activation. Her W, which was once bare, now has designs inside the AOE. "They should be hitting PBE with the next deploy, so we'll be looking for more feedback from you when that hits."
