According to an announcement made by Team SoloMid, Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng has officially returned to TSM. Doublelift previously took time away from TSM in order to pursue streaming as well as take a break from competitive play. Most recently he played with Team Liquid in the 2017 NA LCS Spring Split on loan from TSM. With Team Liquid he helped the team avoid being relegated to the Challenger series.
"I'm really excited to be playing again on TSM, and feel reinvigorated from this break," Doublelift said. He would then speak to why he took a break in the first place and said, "After last season's Worlds, I was overwhelmed by the weight of my massive underperformance when it mattered most. Coming back into LCS, my only priority is to win worlds and nothing else. It's a huge honor to be able to play with everyone on TSM and I will make the most of it. This is the hungriest that I've ever been to succeed, and soon I will prove it to my teammates, my fans, and the world."
When Doublelift stepped aside, Jason "WildTurtle" Tran joined the organization and helped TSM capture the 2017 NA LCS Spring Split title. According to the press release, WildTurtle will remain with the team. "As stated in previous announcements, TSM will be running a six-man roster for the coming split with Doublelift and Jason ‘WildTurtle’ Tran sharing the AD Carry position. They will be expected to focus on different playstyles and will be fielded according to the strategy the team plans to use. We hope that the arrangement will increase the strategic depth of the team and assist both players in dealing with burnout."
Doublelift is one of the games most popular players. He's often regarded as the best AD Carry in the west and has the stats to prove it. His stream was also quite popular and often was the most viewed League of Legends stream.
