As many more League of Legends teams
"Richard Lippe, Board Co-Chairman of H2K, today announced that H2K is seeking partners to work with it to become a top-tier, multi-title organization led by its highly successful League of Legends Team in the EULCS"
Since 2014, H2K has placed among the best three teams in the EU LCS. In 2015 and 2016, H2K went to the League of Legends World Championship. In 2016 they found the most success as they were the only western team to reach the semifinals, eventually bowing out to SK Telecom T1.
H2K also has a vast following on social media. They have a reach of over 29 million on Twitter according to the press release and have over 45 million in total reach on Facebook. They also have a strong video department as their recently created YouTube channel has already surpassed 1.8 million views.
""The H2K ownership group", stated Lippe, has concluded that "a go-it-alone" strategy is no longer the right approach for the franchise to achieve and sustain a position in the top tier of esports. Therefore, we are actively engaged in seeking potential partners who can help take H2K to the next level. We encourage interested parties to contact us directly. Our Partners will have to share our commitment to growing and strengthening the H2K franchise, and to reach new heights of success in League of Legends, and other esports Leagues."
Partnering only makes sense for teams that want to reach that "next level." We're seeing more and more teams partner up with big time organizations such as NBA teams and soccer moguls. Partnering with these organizations will give strength and structure to the organization at hand. For H2K, this is a great next step to get them to the top of the EU LCS.
