While MSI rambles on, other League of Legends teams not participating aren't standing by during their off-season. According to a report by ESPN, Immortals of the NA LCS are in the process of acquiring Counter Logic Gaming's jungler Jake "Xmithie" Puchero.

The report also states that Joshua "Dardoch" Hartnett could be on his way to Counter Logic Gaming in what can be seen as a swap or trade.

"With the deal, there is a possibility that Joshua "Dardoch" Hartnett, who Xmithie will replace on Immortals, will be traded to Counter Logic Gaming to man its jungle position, sources said. However, there is no guarantee the deal goes both ways."

Reasons for the trade between the two parties were not disclosed.

Dardoch and the Immortals had their worst finish since joining the NA LCS and finished with an 8-10 record. That record was good for seventh place and the team did not qualify for the playoffs. It's been quite the roster turnover for the Immortals squad. Heading into the 2017 NA LCS Spring Split, the team retained just one member from their dominant 2016 NA LCS Summer Split team. Eugene "Pobelter" park remained in the mid lane while the team picked up four new players. The lack of synergy was evident for the better part of the first half of the split as the team looked out of sorts at times.

Xmithie, 25, has been with Counter Logic Gaming since December of 2014. With the organization, he would be a part of a pair of first place finishes in the 2015 NA LCS Summer Split as well as the 2016 NA LCS Spring Split. The team would also finish second at the 2016 Mid-Season Invitational with Xmithie at the jungle position. CLG finished in fourth place in their most recent split with a 10-8 record. The team did not last long in the playoffs as they bowed out after a five-game series against FlyQuest in the quarterfinals.
