The results of Pokemon Sun and Moon's latest global event are in, and they aren't pretty. Global Missions are online events that require Pokemon trainers around the world to work together towards a common goal. In this event, players were asked to capture or defeat 1,000,000 Pokemon using game's Island Scan functions, which can be used once a day.
Unfortunately, players only defeated 661,839 Pokemon, well short of the goal. This was despite Nintendo releasing a set of special QR codes that allowed players to use the Island Scan functions twice per day.
While the mission was still a failure, the results weren't nearly as bad as November's global mission, which asked players to capture 100 million Pokemon. Players captured less than 25 million, falling pathetically short.
Players who participated in December's global mission will receive either 217 or 434 Festival Coins, depending on whether their game is registered on the Pokemon Global Link system.
The Pokemon Company has not announced what Pokemon Sun and Moon's next global mission will be or when it will take place.
